Hand screen printed and hand crafted gender neutral art pieces made by Aydin Huseyin in Inner West Sydney
After 6 months of independent backpacking through Central and South America, Aydin Huseyin decided to leave his corporate life when he returned to Sydney and set on a new adventure spending the next year exploring different creative pursuits. Discovering a love for screen printing on fabric, Aydin went on to further develop his new passion by studying fashion full-time where he trained in both womenswear and menswear design, textile printing, and garment construction.
Aydin develops his textiles without the aid of digital software and uses the misregistrations in the experimental hand printed screen prints as features in the garments representing the importance of valuing and conserving the handwork and skills of artisans and makers in Australia. Each piece is then cut and hand crafted by Aydin, which allows the designing of each garment to take place during the construction stage giving every garment its own unique one of a kind design. His relaxed gender neutral silhouettes and bold print designs are also heavily inspired by his interest in abstract art, and the streets of the Inner West where he grew up and still lives.
